Bicycle Registration

Registering your bicycle greatly increases the chances it will be returned to you if recovered. Register on the City's website and/or through the nonprofit registry bikeindex.org.

Cold Weather Rule

This state law protects residential utility customers from having electric or natural gas service shut off October 1 - April 30. To apply, contact your natural gas or electric company and request a cold weather rule payment plan. Learn more, or call Public Utilities at 651-296-0406.

The City of Minneapolis offers a website where community members can report traffic safety concerns on individual locations. Community feedback will be used with crash data to help inform the City's Vision Zero Action Plan to improve traffic safety. Report concerns.

Vision Zero Webinar

The Vision Zero Network hosted a webinar in 2020 featuring speed management efforts in Seattle and Minneapolis. Both cities prioritized safe speeds in their Vision Zero work, seeing the critical role speed plays in the frequency and severity of crashes, and both show the growing appetite in communities to modernize their policies to prioritize safety over speed in a lasting, systemic way. Learn more.
