In this free workshop, self-defense expert Mary Brandl demonstrates what you need to know to avoid becoming a victim of robbery and assault, as well as identify an attacker in the making.

Participants will learn to become more aware of their surroundings with techniques to avoid trouble and simple self-defense methods.

Home Security Subsidies

East Bde Maka Ska Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) funds will reimburse residential property owners (owner-occupied or rented) up to $250 for security upgrades. For multi-unit residential properties with four or more units, the maximum subsidy is $1,000.

 

Community Safety Meeting

On May 11, 2023, over 150 residents gathered to discuss a recent spike in neighborhood crime. Guests Ward 10 City Council Member Aisha Chughtai, and the MPD 5th Precinct's Insp. Katie Blackwell and Lt. Mike Frye fielded a range of questions regarding public safety.
